The EP, which is being released via Well Done Entertainment in association with F.U. Pay Me Records, features Brother Ali and King Magnetic, along with production credits from Eyego/Direct, Marco Polo (on the previously released lead single "I Wonder"), King Magnetic and Astronote.
"'Big Deal' is just a throwback type track, the vibe of the beat is real Marley Marl so it made me write with that type of spirit, just braggin' and boastin'. Ali and I met years back and he's been a huge supporter of my music, took me on tour and everything so I was honored when he blessed the remix." says Reef of the Big Deal EP.
On working with King Magnetic, Reef explains, "Me and Mag met thru [sic] my man Adlib years back and we've been working together ever since, I think he's one of the illest and he brings the best out of me. We have a great chemistry so it's only natural we do this project."
King Magnetic also spoke on their partnership, saying, "Reef and I had done a show or two together in 2002 and when I made bail in New York City later that year, we were officially introduced. We didn't do any music the first three years, just hung out here and there and drank way too much on his stoop. When he was working on Feast or Famine, I came to a bunch of sessions and we did 'Crumbs.' Then I brought some beats out and we did 'The Sound of Philadelphia' on the spot. He literally wrote a verse before I could dump the track on ProTools. For the King & The Cauze album, we left all the scraps on the cutting room floor. Raw, yet polished sound. Reef and I bring the best out of each other on each track. Period."
